Buddhists think sexual intercourse can be used in the spiritual path because it causes a strong focusing on Consciousness.+

Buddhist Teachings about Sex of Tantric Buddhism.

“Being able to have sexual contact without releasing semen is something needed when you practice the advanced stages of the complete stage." ~ Dalai Lama

•••

"For Buddhists, sexual intercourse can be used in the spiritual path because it causes a strong focus on Consciousness if the practitioner has firm compassion and wisdom. Its purpose is to manifest and prolong deeper levels of mind (described earlier with respect to the process of dying), in order to put their power to use in strengthening the realization of the emptiness. Otherwise, mere intercourse has nothing to do with spiritual cultivation. When a person has achieved a high level of practice in motivation and wisdom, then even the joining of the two sex organs or so-called intercourse does not detract from the maintenance of that person’s pure behavior..."

"Through special techniques of concentration during sex, competent practitioners can prolong very deep, subtle, and powerful states and put them to use to realize emptiness. However, if you engage in sexual intercourse within an ordinary mental context, there is no benefit." - How to Practice, Way to a Meaningful Life, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Translated by Jeffrey Hopkins.

Santthosh Kumaar:~ I respect the views and wisdom of H. H Dalai lama.

As per my conviction:~

Sex has nothing to do with the Soul, which is sexless because it is an ever-formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.

The one which born, lives has sex, and dies within the world is not the Self because the ‘Self’ is birthless and deathless.

The ‘Self is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness is formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.

If the ‘Self’ is not you, by you having sexual intercourse, ignorance will not vanish. The wisdom is not product intercourse. All these imaginary theories based on the false self within the false experience produce only hallucination not the realization of truth.

Those who propagate Samadhi through sexual intercourse are not Gnanis. Sexual intercourse has nothing to do with the Soul, which is ever formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.

Those who indulge in sexual activities in order to get enlightenment will permanently remain in the prison of the dualistic illusion. They are unfit to acquire Self-knowledge.

Sex and the sexual act are not the means to Self-realization because the Self is a genderless and ever-formless, timeless, and spaceless existence. Sex implies duality. The tantric sex is a theory based on the false Self (you) within the false experience (waking). When the world in which you exist is an illusion, having sex within the illusory world is bound to be an illusion.

Sex belongs to the domain of the duality. What is the use of discussing celibacy and sex in the Atmic path when the Atma is genderless because it is a formless, timeless, and spaceless existence?

Dalai Lama said: ~ Buddhism need not be the best religion though it is most scientific and religious and inquisitive. But Buddhism has no answer to certain questions like the existence of Atama (Soul) and rebirth. Dali lama said that as an individual he believes in rebirth as he had come across a few cases of rebirth. Modern science, Dalai Lama hoped would unearth the mystery behind the rebirth. (In DH –dec-212009-Gulburga).

Buddhists do not believe in Atma. Thus, the entire Buddhist theories and sutras are physically based therefore, they yield the truth of the part not the truth of the whole. All the Buddhist teachings are not of the Buddha, but it is mixed up with other religion of different nations in Asia which were merged with Buddhism. Thus, It is very difficult to get the pure essence of pure essence Bhagavan Buddha‘s wisdom.

Buddhism has not proved the truth of Nonduality. Advaitic Sages agree Bhagavan Buddha pointed out the unreality of the world.

Bhagavan Buddha told people they were foolish to cling to it. But he stopped there. He came nearest to Advaita in speech but not to Advaita fully.

Only when we independently search for the truth without religion and its doctrine then we will be able to realize the truth beyond form, time, and space. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

The ego itself is the universe and the Soul, the Self itself is God in truth.+

The ego itself is the universe and the Soul, the Self itself is God in truth. The difference between the ego and the Soul is when the ego appears along with the universe and the universe disappears as the Soul, the Self, which is God in truth.

When the universe disappears then God in truth appears. The Soul, the Self, which is present in the form of consciousness is the cause of the illusory universe.

Bhagavad Gita: ~ “You must first see the ‘I’ as illusory before you see others as illusory. ~ CH.2 v.16

First, you must make sure the ‘I’ itself is illusory because the ‘I’ is not permanent.

The seeker has to find for himself the truth of his true existence and come to a fuller and deeper understanding and realization of the truth, which is hidden by the illusory form, time, and space.

The purpose quest for truth is to first find out what is the untruth to realize the truth and discard the untruth.

Do not try to get rid of the ego you will never succeed in getting rid of the ego. Think in a different direction. The ego exists only in the domain of the illusory form, time, and space.

The form, time, and space exist only when the mind exists.

The mind exists only when the universe exists.

The universe appears only when the waking appears.

The waking appears only when the ‘I’ appears.

Remember:~

The ‘I’ disappears in deep sleep.

There is no form, time, and space when ‘I’ disappears.

There is no mind when ‘I’ disappears.

There is no universe when the ‘I’ disappears.

There is no waking when the ‘I’ disappears.

Remember:~

‘I’ appears means the duality appears.

The duality appears means there is a division of form, time, and space.

If there is division in the form, time and space means there is diversity in the unity.

Remember ~

When ‘I’ disappears there is nonduality.

Nonduality is the fullness of the consciousness without the division of form, time, and space.

The fullness of the consciousness means unity in diversity.

Unity in diversity in consciousness is Advaita.

Consciously becoming aware of the Soul in the midst of diversity (waking) is Self-awareness or Brahmic awareness.

If you desire Self-realization, but you still say "I,” and if you feel the ‘Self’ is the ‘I’, you are not a wise seeker. You are simply ignorant. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Sage Sankara Says:~ The religion is meant for ignorant people. Advaitic wisdom is meant for serious truth seekers.+

Sage Sankara Says:~ The religion is meant for ignorant people. Advaitic wisdom is meant for the serious seekers of truth.

Sage Sankara says:~ the scriptures dealing with rituals are addressed to an ignorant person.

Those who lack the intelligence to discriminate between formless witness (subject) and three states (object) will not be able to grasp what is real and what is unreal. Both the subject and object are the consciousness, not the subject alone.

Ish Upanishad:~ Those people who have neglected the attainment of Self-knowledge and have thus committed suicide ~10/11/12

Those people who have neglected the attainment of Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana and have thus committed suicide, as it were, are doomed to enter those worlds after death.

This is a condemnation of people who do not try to attain Self-knowledge. They are, in a real sense, committing suicide, for what can be worse than being a slave to sense enjoyment, completely oblivious of the real purpose of life, which is to be one’s, own master?

The Brahma Sutras together with Sage Sankara's commentary thereon do not contain higher Vedanta. They are intended for duffers.

Sage Sankara's commentary on Brahma Sutras is not on a philosophical basis, but on a religio-mystic one, with an appeal to Vedas as the final authority.

In Brahma Sutra Sage Sankara takes the position that there is another entity outside us, i.e. the wall really exists separately from the mind. This was because of Sage Sankara explains in Manduka that those who study the Sutras are religious minds, and intellectual children, hence his popular viewpoint to assist them. These people are afraid to go deeper because it means being heroic enough to refuse to accept Shruti, and God's authority, in case they mean punishment by God.

Sage Sankara says:~ Keep the scriptures for children but throw them on the fire for wise seekers.

In Brahma Sutras Sage Sankara takes for granted, and assumes that a world was created: He mixes dogmatic theology with philosophy.

That God created the world is an absolute lie; nevertheless, you will find Sage Sankara (in his commentary on Vedanta Sutras) clearly says this! He has to adapt his teachings to his audience, reserving the highest for philosophical minds.

The text of Brahma Sutras is based on religion, and dogmatism, but in the commentary, Sankara cleverly introduced some philosophy. It is objected that a number of Upanishads are equally dogmatic because they also begin by assuming Brahman, but a few Upanishads do not but prove Brahman at the end of a train of proof.

The causality and creation, but are for religious people only. Religion is only for those who are unable to understand truth beyond form, time, and space.

Religion is not final. It only gives satisfaction to the populace. Self-knowledge is for the whole of humanity to free them from experiencing birth, life, death, and the world as reality.

People of small intelligence follow religion and believe that the world was created by God. But how do they know that He did so? When a pot is created, one can see both the pot and its maker, but not in the case of the world.

This is following a prescription prescribed by orthodoxy in the name of Sage Sankara. The orthodoxy has listed down in 5 verses, 40 steps of Sadhanas (discipline) to be followed to achieve the (only meaningful) goal of human life Moksha, liberation. Use it as every day as a contemplative prayer.

1. Study the scriptures (Vedas) daily

2. Perform diligently the duties (sva dharma) ordered by the scriptures

3. Predicate all the actions thus performed (as above) to Ishvara (IshvarArpanna Buddhi)

4. Gradually give up performance of ‘Selfish actions

5. Filter sinful/adharmic likes and dislikes

6. Recognize the inherent defects of material pursuits

7. Seek moksha with consistent endeavor

8. Get out from the bondage of activity (specified to the ones which end up entangling us)

9. Seek companionship with men of wisdom

10. Be established in firm devotion to Ishvara and perform Upasana

11. Gain mind control, sense control, withdrawal, forbearance, faith, and focus

12. Give up karma and Upasana when they are not required any longer for spiritual growth

13. Seek Knowledge from a SadtGuru

14. Serve his lotus feet

15. Ask for brahma vidya

16. Listen in depth, to the Upanishadic declarations

17. Analyze the meanings of Upanishadic commandments

18. Perform such analyses by sticking to scriptures

19. Get away from logic based system (logic is good when it corroborates scripture, in the sense, don't try to substitute it)

20. Dwell upon the discriminative rationale of Shruti (basically, develop Viveka)

21. Constantly remain steeped in the fact that you are Brahman

22. Renounce pride/vanity/arrogance

23. Give up the delusionary misconception- "I am the body"

24. Do not argue with wise men

25. Consider hunger as a disease

26. Treat hunger, the disease, by taking bhiksha food

27. Beg no delicious food

28. Live contentedly with whatever comes your way as prasadam

29. Endure all pains of opposites- heat/cold, likes/dislikes, pleasure/pain.

30. Avoid wasteful talk

31. Be indifferent and avoid groupism

32. Don't get attached to either someone's love or criticism

33. In solitude also, live joyously

34. Quieten your mind in Ishvara

35. Realize and see the ‘Self’ in everything, everywhere

36. Recognize the universe as a finite projection of the ‘Self’

37. Destroy the effects of deeds done in earlier lives (sanchit karma) through the strength of knowledge

38. Through wisdom, become detached from AgAmi karma (give up doership/enjoyership)

39. Experience and exhaust the prarabdh, fruits of past actions

40. Thereafter, live eternally as Brahman

Remember:~

Sage Sankara Says:~ the orthodoxy is meant for ignorant people.

Sage Sankara: ~ "Though I wear these robes of a Sanyasin, it is only for the sake of bread."

~ This shows he was wearing the religious robe only for the sake of bread."

All the rituals based on the false belief of Gods will not yield any fruits and they are meant for the ignorant populace who are unable to grasp the God beyond the form, time, and space.

One of Sage Sankara’s missions was to wean people away from a ritualistic approach advocated by Mimamsakas and to project wisdom (jnana) as the means of liberation in the light of Upanishad teachings.

Sage Sankara criticized severely the ritualistic attitude and those who advocated such practices. However, the orthodox texts that combined rituals with wisdom (jnana_karma_samucchaya) more in favor of the Mimamsaka position came into vogue, projecting Sage Sankara as the rallying force of the doctrine.

That is why Sage Sankara:~ (11) As regards the rituals, Sage Sankara says, the person who performs rituals and aspires for rewards will view himself in terms of the caste into which he is born, his age, the stage of his life, his standing in society etc. In addition, he is required to perform rituals all through his life. However, the ‘Self’ has none of those attributes or tags. Hence, the person who superimposes all those attributes on the changeless, eternal ‘Self’ and identifies the ‘Self’ with the body is a confusing one for the other; and is, therefore, an ignorant person. The scriptures dealing with rituals, rewards, etc. are therefore addressed to an ignorant person.- Adhyasa Bhashya

Sage Sankara:~ (11.1) This ignorance (mistaking the body for ‘Self’) brings in its wake a desire for the well-being of the body, aversion for its disease or discomfort, fear of its destruction and thus a host of miseries(anartha). This anartha is caused by projecting karthvya(“doer” sense) and bhokthavya (object) on the Atman. Sankara calls this adhyasa. The scriptures dealing with rituals, rewards etc. are, therefore, he says, addressed to an ignorant person.-Adhyasa Bhashya

Sage Sankara:~ (11.2) In short, a person who engages in rituals with the notion “I am an agent, doer, thinker”, according to Sage Sankara, is ignorant, as his behavior implies a distinct, separate doer/agent/knower; and an object that is to be done/achieved/known. That duality is Avidya, an error that can be removed by vidya. -Adhyasa Bhashya

Sage Sankara: ~ (12) Sage Sankara affirming his belief in one eternal unchanging reality (Brahman) and the illusion of plurality, drives home the point that Upanishads deal not with rituals but with the knowledge of the Absolute (Brahma vidya) and the Upanishads give us an insight into the essential nature of the ‘Self’ which is identical with the Absolute, the Brahman.-Adhyasa Bhashya

No conceptual God can exist, apart from consciousness. People are not aware of the fact that there is no individual God that can exist, apart from the Soul, which is in the form of consciousness. Thus, the Soul or consciousness is the true ‘Self’. If there is no consciousness, then there is no body, no ego, no universe, no religion, and no conceptual God. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Sage Sankara:~Knowledge does verily destroy ignorance as light destroys deep darkness.+

Sage Sankara:~ Action (karma) cannot destroy ignorance, for it is not in conflict with or opposed to ignorance. Knowledge does verily destroy ignorance as light destroys deep darkness. ~ Atma Bodha

Action/reaction is a theory based on the false self. You are the false ‘Self’ within the dualistic illusion (world). Action means karma. If one accepts the form (you or ego) as the ‘Self’ then the karma theory becomes the universal principle.

If you accept the fact that the ‘Self’ is not you but the ‘Self’ is nondual 'Soul’, then the world in which you exist is a dualistic illusion.

By accepting karma theory, one is accepting the unreal as reality and permanently remains in the clutches of dualistic illusion. The dualistic illusion is present in the form of the ‘I’. The ‘I’ is present in the form of the mind. The mind is present in the form of the world.

The world appears as waking or dream (duality) and disappears as deep sleep (non-duality).

Thus, Karma theory is a hindrance in the path of truth because one accepts the false self as the real ‘‘Self’’ and false experience as a real experience and he thinks all his actions will yield fruits. Thus, he will remain permanently in the realm of unreality or ignorance. Without getting rid of ignorance truth realization or Self-realization is an impossibility.

Dalai Lama said:~ Buddhism need not be the best religion though it is most scientific and religion and inquisitive. (In DH –dec-212009-Gulburga)

People who are caught up in the idea of reincarnation and rebirth theories are not qualified for Self-Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana because they accepted the duality as a reality. Birth implies duality, From the ultimate standpoint, duality is falsehood

People who believe in reincarnation and rebirth theories are unaware of the fact that their belief is based on the waking entity, which is the false Self within the false experience.

The waking entity itself is the false self within the false experience, it means the present experience of birth, life, death, and the world is a falsehood.

Whatever is seen, known, believed, and experienced as the waking entity is bound to be a falsehood, because the Soul, the Self is birthless because it is formless. Therefore, the rebirth and reincarnation theory based on the false Self is bound to be a falsehood.

Accepting rebirth and reincarnation theory as reality is accepting the false self (waking entity or ego) as a real Self and false experience (waking) as reality.

Self-realization is impossible if one accepts the present waking entity as the real Self because the Self is neither the waking entity nor the Self is a dream entity, but the Self is a formless Soul, which witnesses the coming and going of the three states.

The three states are impermanent, but the Soul or consciousness, which is the witness of the three states, is permanent and eternal. In reality, the three states are one in essence. And that essence is consciousness. Therefore, there is no second thing exists other than consciousness. Thus, consciousness (Soul) is second to none.

A deeper self-search reveals the fact that the waking experience itself is an illusion. It means the present experience of birth, life, death, and the world is an illusion. Thus, the reincarnation theory based on the false Self within the false experience is bound to be a falsehood. When the waking entity is not the Self then whatever theory is based on the waking entity imagined theory.

This imagined theory based on the waking entity or ego is for those lower mindsets who are incapable of grasping the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.

Birth implies duality, and the duality is falsehood from the ultimate standpoint. :~Santthosh Kumaar

It is not human memory that is the cause of ignorance. The human memory is limited to illusory form, time, and space.+

It is not human memory that is the cause of ignorance. The human memory is limited to illusory form, time, and space.

The 'Self' is not human because the Self is the Soul, the Spirit, which is a formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.

The one which is in ignorance is not the waking entity (you) but the formless Soul. It is foolish to think you are in ignorance because you and your experience of the world are the product of ignorance. Thus, without deeper self-search, it is impossible to realize ‘what is the truth?’ and ‘what is untruth?'

Without knowing ‘what is truth’ it is impossible to know ‘what is untruth’. People are stuck with 'I-centric or you-centric Gurus and their teaching and hold them as a yardstick which is the greatest hindrance in the pursuit of truth.

People believe that gurus or mystics or priests have so many followers and therefore there must be some truth in their teaching, which is a common fallacy accepted by the populace due to their inherited samskara or conditioning. It proves only an ignorant can find a number of greater ignorant to follow him.

There is nothing to discuss and there is nothing to argue in the Atmic path but only to realize ‘what is the truth?” and ‘what is untruth?’. By agreeing and disagreeing ignorance will not vanish.

Sage Sankara: ~ VC Let erudite scholars quote all the scripture, let Gods be invoked through sacrifices, let elaborate rituals be performed, let personal Gods be propitiated---yet, without the realization of one‘s identity With the Self, there shall be no liberation for the individual, not even in the lifetimes of a hundred Brahmas put together (verses-6)

Then why waste time discussing, which yields no fruits. The citations from scriptures are not proofs. The ultimate truth has to be proved without the scriptures. The ultimate truth is the universal truth and it does not belong to any religion. Religion causes diversity in unity, whereas, the ultimate truth brings unity in diversity.

I quote quotations in my blogs and posts to show them as authoritative only after deeper verification proves the truth and points out that the texts teach the same thing. If I quote them before having demonstrated the truth, then it is scholasticism.

It is not that one should pore over the ancient scriptures. There is no need to study first, and then realize. One has to realize first, then only he will know ‘what is truth’ and ‘what is untruth’. One has to make discoveries through the process of rational thinking and reasoning.

Self-knowledge cannot be attained by the study of the scriptures and intellectual understanding or by bookish knowledge. Therefore, there is no use in studying the scriptures and other scriptures in order to acquire non-dual wisdom.

That is why Bhagavan Buddha rejected the scriptures, and even Sage Sankara indicated that the ultimate truth lies beyond religion, the concept of God, and the scriptures.

Sage Sankara himself says: ~ VC 59. The study of the Scriptures is useless so long as the highest Truth is unknown, and it is equally useless when the highest Truth has already been known.
60. The Scriptures, consisting of many words are a dense forest that merely causes the mind to ramble. Hence, men of wisdom should earnestly set about knowing the true nature of the Self.
61. For one who has been bitten by the serpent of Ignorance, the only remedy is the knowledge of Brahman. Of what avail are the Vedas and (other) Scriptures, Mantras (sacred formulae), and medicines to such a one?

Sage Sankara said: ~ Neither by the practice of yoga nor philosophy, nor by good works, nor by learning, does liberation come, but only through the realization that Atman and Brahman are one in no other way.

Stick to Sage Sankara’s advice and drop what is not needed to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana.: ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Unless you realize the Self as the Soul, you are all blinded by the dualistic illusion.+

The seeker has to look at everything in nature because in everything there is consciousness. One should not avoid them, or shut his eyes to nature; one should not shut himself away from the world, which is as much consciousness, as anywhere else. But people who are not sharp say to be non-observant and to withdraw, but a keen observation is desirable and will help, not hinder one’s pursuit of truth.

The seeker has to take experiences as they come to him, he should not run away from the world in ascetic fear or shyness of them.

Remember this:~

When you realize the ‘Self’ is not you but the ‘Self’ is the Soul then whatever is based on you is bound to be an illusion created out of consciousness.

The world in which you exist is a reality on the base of the ego (you). The world in which you exist is an illusion on the base of the Soul, the Self.

Unless you realize the Self as the Soul, you are all blinded by the dualistic illusion.

If the Soul is the  Self, then:~

Where are you?

Where is your ego?

Where is your body?

Where is the world in which you exist?

Where is the duality, where is void; or despair in the taintless Soul, the Self?

~ They are or have become consciousness.

Everything is created out of a single stuff. And that single stuff is consciousness then there is no room for any doubt and confusion. Knowledge of the single stuff is Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

Consciousness is the root element of the universe. Consciousness is present in the form of the Soul, the  Self.

From the Soul, the universe comes into existence. In the Soul, the Self, the universe reside. And into the Soul the universe is dissolved. The Soul is the parent of all that is there.: ~ Santthosh Kumaar

The mind is present in the form of the universe.+

The Soul, the Self is hidden by the illusory form, time, and space. Form, time, and space are the products of ignorance. Form, time, and space are present in the form of the mind. The mind is present in the form of the universe.

The universe appears as a waking or dream. Until one holds the ‘Self’ as the ‘I’ he is in the grip of ignorance.

If ignorance is present then duality is present.

If duality is present then the illusion is experienced as a reality.

If the illusion is experienced as reality then one is stuck with the reality of practical life within the practical world.

For a Gnani, who is aware of the fact that the Self is not the ‘I’ but the ‘Self’ is the Soul, the witness of the ‘I’ there is no illusion, even though; he is in the midst of the dualistic illusion because he is fully aware of the fact that, the dualistic illusion (universe) is nothing but an illusion created out of consciousness.

When the universe itself is nothing but consciousness then there is no second thing that exists other than consciousness. Thus, consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.

This vast cosmos with all its contents (atom, molecule, sun, moon, planet, and star) all are created out of a single stuff. That single stuff is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. Knowledge of the single stuff is Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

Rig Veda: ~ 'Prajnanam Brahma'- Consciousness is the ultimate reality or Brahman or God in truth.
Do not accept any other God other than the Soul. The Soul is God in truth, Nothing is real but the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Nothing matters but realizing God in truth. God in truth is everywhere and in everything. Let these words be inscribed in your subconscious.
God in truth is hidden by the illusory universe. God in truth alone is real and eternal and all else is an illusion.
Brahman is merely a word to indicate the ultimate truth of God in truth. The ultimate truth itself is God in truth.

Bhagavad Gita: ~ Brahmano hi pratisthaham ~ Brahman (Godin truth) is considered the all-pervading consciousness, which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material. (14.27).

When Bhagavad Gita says, God is considered the all-pervading consciousness which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material then nothing has to be accepted as God other than consciousness. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar
