The Guru is useless so long as the ultimate truth is unknown, and the Guru is equally useless when the ultimate truth or Brahman has already been known.

A Guru is needed for the religious and the yogic path. There is no need for a Guru to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

Sage Sankara: ~ "Though I wear these robes of a Sanyasin, it is only for the sake of bread."

So he wore a Guru's robe only for the sake of the ignorant. So he was identified as a Guru with parampara by religious people. For the truth seekers, Sage Sankara is a Brahma Gnani.

Sage Sankara himself said: ~ A Gnani "bears no outward mark of a holy man" (Stanza 539).

Thus, it proves that the religious gurus and yogis are not Gnanis because they identified themselves as holy people.

Tripura Rahasya: ~ Second-hand knowledge of the Self-gathered from books or Gurus can never emancipate a man until its truth is rightly investigated and applied; only direct realization will do that. Realize yourself, turning the mind inward. (18: 89)

The Gurus, yogis, and Swamis are not Gnanis. The Gurus, yogis, and Swamis have nothing to do with the ultimate truth or Brahman. In the path of wisdom, the Guru is not necessary.

Advaitic truth is very simple, but it becomes very difficult if one wants to realize it through some Guru or some teaching.

To realize this simple truth one need not go to any Guru, one need not lose him’ Self’ in the labyrinth of philosophy; one need not spend his lifetime indulging in glorifying Guru or Gods, one need not search for truth in the books, one need not renounce his family life. One has to be in the world but not of this world.

It is because of our inherited samskara or conditioning we are carrying the baggage of mental junk. We have to burn all the junk, which is blocking our realization of the ultimate truth or Brahman.

If one is seeking truth nothing but truth one has to drop worshiping the physical Gurus and stick to the Gurus emotionally. Glorifying the Guru and God is for those who are not seeking the truth.

Vedas bar human worship: ~

Yajur Veda :~

Translation 3-

"They are enveloped in darkness, in other words, are steeped in ignorance and sunk in the greatest depths of misery who worship the uncreated, eternal Prakriti -- the material cause of the world -- in place of the All-pervading God, But those who worship visible things born of the Prakriti, such as the earth, trees, bodies (human and the like) in place of God are enveloped in still greater darkness, in other words, they are extremely foolish, fall into an awful hell of pain and sorrow, and suffer terribly for a long time. "- (Yajur Veda 40:9.)

Then why to worship and glorify the Gurus and Yogis (human form) in place of God when Veda bars such activities and also warns people who indulge in such activities to are enveloped in still greater darkness, in other words, they are extremely foolish, fall into an awful hell of pain and sorrow, and suffer terribly for a long time.

By worshiping the gurus as Gods, the wisdom will not dawn. The person who indulges in such activities will not be able to cross the threshold of dualistic illusion. One has to understand, assimilate, and realize the truth, which is beyond form, time, and space. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Those who follow I-centric Gurus and their teaching are blocking themselves from the truth, which is hidden by the ‘I’.+

All Gurus and their teaching of the past and present Glorified the ‘I’ and made seekers permanently remain in ignorance.

Most seekers are sentimentally and emotionally involved with ‘I-centric Gurus and their teaching and refuse to accept anything other than their Guru's teachings. Such seekers who follow 'I-centric Gurus and their teaching are blocking themselves from the truth, which is hidden by the ‘I’, which itself is ignorance.

Yoga Vasistha says: ~ Self-knowledge or knowledge of truth is not had by resorting to a Guru (preceptor) nor by the study of scripture, nor by good works: it is attained only by means of inquiry inspired by the company of wise (Gnani). One’s inner light alone is the means, naught else. When this inner light is kept alive, it is not affected by the darkness of inertia.

The Guru is useless so long as the ultimate truth is unknown, and the Guru is equally useless when the ultimate truth or Brahman has already been known.

That is why Swami Vivekananda said: ~ “You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, and none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher, but your own Soul.”

Swami Vivekananda: ~Jñāna Yoga is divided into three parts. First: hearing the truth--that the Atman is the only reality and that everything else is Maya. Second: reasoning upon this philosophy from all points of view. Third: giving up all further argumentation and realizing the truth. This realization comes from being certain that Brahman is real and everything else is unreal.

The ‘I’ becomes ‘I’-less in deep sleep and the ‘I’-less appears as waking or dream (duality). The one that appears as the ‘I’, and the one that disappears as the ‘I-less, is the Soul which is present in the form of consciousness. The ‘I’ (mind) and ‘I-less (Soul) both are one in essence.

From the standpoint of the Soul, the Self, the three states are merely an illusion. The ‘I’ never exists in reality.

The ‘I’ is impermanent. The ‘I’ comes and goes as waking or dream, and disappears as deep sleep. There must be something permanent, to register the coming and going, of the ‘I’. The ‘I’ itself is an illusion. The Soul is the witness of the ‘I’ is permanent and eternal.

The Soul is the Self. The Soul is present in the form of consciousness. Consciousness pervades everything and everywhere in all three states.

It is for the seeker to go on his own and remove all the obstacles, which are blocking the realization of the truth, which is beyond the form, time, and space.

The greatest hindrance is mixing religion, God, scriptures, and yogic theories. Moreover, attachment to scriptures, personal God, and religious code of conduct keep one permanently in the grip of the dualistic illusion or Maya.

Embark on the journey of the truth; it frees the Soul from the illusion of form, time, and space.

When you finally realize the ‘Self ‘ is not you but the ‘Self’ is the Soul then you will realize the world in which you exist is merely an illusion created out of the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Remember:~

Self-inquiry is to realize the ‘Self’ is not ‘I’ but the ‘self is the ‘I-LESS Soul’, which is present in the form of consciousness.

You are not the ‘Self.

You are bound by form, time, and space.

You are bound by the experience of birth, life, death, and the world.

You are never free because the world in which you exist is the product of ignorance.

It is not you who is in ignorance but it is the Soul, which is in ignorance of its own true nature.

When the Soul wakes up from its sleep of ignorance and remains in its own awareness the world in which you exist becomes one with Soul-awareness.

When ignorance vanishes through Advaitic wisdom then the world in which you exist never again prevails as a reality.

The world in which you exist is created out of single clay. That single clay is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

The Soul is the Self. The Soul is not ‘I’. The Soul is the witness of the ‘I’ which appears and disappears.

The Soul is the only permanent thing and the ‘I’ is merely an illusion. If you do not understand this truth you will never be able to cross the ‘I’, which is the dualistic illusion or Maya.

The seeker has to make sure what is this ‘I’ supposed to be? The seeker has to make sure of the unreal nature of the ‘I’ which comes and goes.

That is why Bhagavad Gita: ~ “The permanent is always there, only the transient ‘I’ comes and goes. (2.18)

The ‘I’ hides the Soul, the Self, which is the cause of the whole universe.

People think the ‘I’ without the body is the Self. The seeker has to understand the fact that ‘I’ is not the Self, but the witness of the ‘I’ is the true Self, which is eternal.

That is why Ashtavakra Gita 16:10:~ “If you desire liberation, but you still say "I," If you feel the ‘Self’ is the ‘I’, You are not a wise man or a seeker. You are simply a man who suffers.

People are stuck with the reality of the ‘I’, which they take 'I' as real because some Gurus have propagated that the Self is the ‘I’. is no need to convince such a mindset. The seeker of truth accepts only the truth nothing but the truth.

Advaita is the true nature of existence. The ‘I’ hides the Advaitic reality. Realize the ‘I’ is merely an illusion created out of consciousness, which is Advaita. Consciousness is Advaita because it is second to none.

The world in which you exist is the Dvaita (duality) is merely an illusion created out of consciousness, which is Advaita. The Advaita (non-duality) is real and eternal the Dvaita (duality) is merely an illusion.

Holding ‘I’ as the ‘Self’ is the cause of ignorance. Realize the ‘I’ is merely an illusion. Stop identifying the Self as ‘I’ or ‘I AM’. Till you identify the Self as ‘I’ or ‘I AM’ the Soul will remain in the cage of ignorance. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Both subject and object are consciousness, not subject alone.+

Self–knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana is an inexhaustible wealth. Other wealth disappears as one spends, but with the Self–knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana, the more one shares more he gains.

The origin of the mind is the Soul. The Soul is the Self. The Soul is present in the form of consciousness.

The mind is in the form of the universe. The mind comes and goes as a waking or dream. The ego or physical entity does not become steady in one place and it is restless in its nature.

Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana cannot be surmised by merely reading the Vedas and Upanishads.

An intense urge to know the truth arises from the source. The source is the Soul.

The mind and its substance and the source are one in essence. The mind or universe is the product of ignorance.

The true nature of the mind or universe can be recognized with the power of discrimination.

Discrimination between the eternal and non-eternal is necessary to acquire Self–knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

Self–knowledge.

Those who lack the intelligence to discriminate between the Soul, which is the witness (subject), and the three states (object) will not be able to grasp ‘what is real’ and ‘what is unreal’.

Both subject and object are consciousness, not subject alone. :~Santthosh Kumaar 

The thought, ‘I AM’ is the dualistic prison’. The thought ‘I AM’ is the cause of ignorance.+

Many spiritual masters say that sticking to "I AM" is a way out of the physical shackles. But that "I AM" itself’ is creates the prison to the Soul, the Self.

By thinking repeatedly, ‘I AM THAT’ the wisdom will not dawn. The thought, ‘I AM’ is the bondage.

The thought, ‘I AM’ is the dualistic prison’. The thought ‘I AM’ is the cause of ignorance.

‘I’ AM ‘indicates the ‘Self’ as being limited to the physical body. When this delusion of ‘I AM’ is destroyed by realizing the Self is not the ‘I or ‘I AM’.

The one, which expresses itself as 'I', is not 'I' but is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

The Soul is prior to the appearance of the ‘I’. The ‘Self’ is not the ‘I’ but the ‘Self’ is the witness of the ‘I’.

Remember, the ‘I’ or ‘I AM’ is not the ‘Self’. Considering the ‘I’ or ‘I AM as the ‘Self’ is an error.

The Soul, the ‘Self’, which is in the form of consciousness cannot be called anything nor approached because it is prior to anything that exists.

The Soul or consciousness is the substance of the whole universe with all contents.

The thoughts and the words are part of the dualistic illusion. The Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness, is not a thing or entity, or identity within the universe.

The Soul is the fullness of consciousness without the illusory division of form, time, and space.

Remember this: ~ I or 'I' AM’ is an illusory expression of the Soul. Holding the Self’ as the ‘I’ or ‘I am’ is holding the illusion as reality.

The mind ceases to exist without the ‘I’.

The mind ceases to exist without form, time, and space.

The mind ceases to exist without the universe.

The mind ceases to exist without waking or the dream.

The mind ceases to exist without the individual experience of birth, life death, and the world.

The mind ceases to exist without the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

But

The Soul, the Self can exist with or without the ‘I’.

The Soul, the Self can exist without the mind.

The Soul, the Self can exist without the universe.

The Soul, the Self can exist without waking or the dream.

The Soul, the Self can exist without the individual experience of birth, life death, and the world.

The Soul, the Self can exist without the dualistic illusion.

The consciousness pervades everywhere and in everything in the universe, which is a dualistic illusion.

The existence of the Soul, the ‘Self’ which is hidden by the ‘I’ has to be mentally grasped and assimilated.

The ‘Self’ is the Soul, the witness of the ‘I’.

Unless the ‘I AM is present the world in which we exist prevails as a reality.

The thoughts of liberation and bondage will remain. So long as one thinks, that the Self as “I AM”.

Wisdom dawns when you realize the ‘Self’ is not the ‘I’ but the ‘Self’ Is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Giving up one physical identity such as ‘I AM’ and replacing it with ‘I AM THAT, will not get to the root of the problem of false identification.

By thinking, ‘I am self-realized is only an imagination. In the realm of truth, there is no scope for such imagination.

The seeker has to transcend the dualistic illusion to enter the formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.

Only through self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana free the Soul, the Self from experiencing the dualistic illusion as a reality.  :~Santthosh Kumaar  

By glorifying the Guru or surrendering to the Guru you will not get Advaitic Gnana.+

Remember, you are a truth seeker you will not accept anything other than the truth. By visiting the Ashram, ignorance will not vanish.

By glorifying the Guru or surrendering to the Guru you will not get Advaitic Gnana.

All religious and yogic paths are meant for the ignorant crowd, not for those who are searching for the truth of their true existence.

By practicing kundalini you will remain in ignorance permanently. Meeting holy people you will not get the grace.

By observing nature you will not find the truth you are seeking but by realizing the unreal nature of the universe the truth you are seeking will be revealed on its own.

Chandogya Upanishads: ~ “This universe comes forth from Brahman and will return to Brahman. Verily, all is Brahman. A person is what his deep desire is. It is our deepest desire in this life that shapes the life to come. So let us direct our deepest desires to realize the Self.

Ashtavakra Gita: ~ “The universe rises from the Soul, the innermost Self like bubbles from the sea. Thus know the ‘Self’ to be One and in this way enter into the state of dissolution."

Sage Sankara said: ~A.A~ 88. When the whole universe, movable and immovable, is known to be Atman (consciousness), and thus the existence of everything else is negated, where is then any room to say that the body is Atman?

The ‘Self’ is not the mind. The mind is present in the form of not the world in which we exist. The world appears as waking or dream (duality) and disappears as deep sleep (non-duality).

The ‘Self’ is the Soul. The Soul is present in the form of consciousness.

Consciousness pervades everything and everywhere in all three states. Thus, diversity is created out of a single stuff. That stuff is consciousness.

Consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman because there is no second thing that exists other than consciousness.

From the standpoint of the Soul, the form, time, and space are one, in essence. That essence is consciousness.

Remember:~

In Spirituality or Adyathma, God means the ultimate truth or Brahman. Spiritual God is the Spirit, which is Advaita.

Self–realization is Truth-realization. Truth- realization is God- realization.

Sage Sankara: ~VC~ if the universe is true, let it then be perceived in the state of deep sleep also. As it is not at all perceived, it must be unreal and false like dreams.

That is why Sage Sankara's declaration: ~ “Brahman is the truth the world is unreal everything is Truly Brahman and nothing else has any value.

If you are seeking truth then do not waste time finding a Guru and becoming his slave. The Gurudom belongs to the religious and yogic path and it has nothing to do with the Advaitic path.

Upanishads:~ Fools dwelling in darkness, but thinking they wise and erudite, go round and round, by various tortuous paths, like the blind led by the blind. (Upanishads Nikilanada - Ch II-5 P-14)

There is no need for a Guru, to know you and your Guru, and the world in which you exist is created out of single clay and that single clay is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Knowledge of that single stuff is the self-knowledge of Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. Gnana is given neither from outside nor from another person.

There is no need to follow anyone. There is no need to practice anything but perfect understanding and assimilation of ‘what is what’ leads to realizing the truth, which is beyond form, time, and space.

The Soul the ’Self’ reveals ‘what is real’ and ‘what is unreal” when the seeker is receptive and ready.

Sage Sankara says: ~ there is no need to study the Scriptures, to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman

~ then why indulge in studying the scriptures.

Sage Sankara says: ~ there is no need to study philosophy, to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman

~then why indulge in studying philosophies.

Sage Sankara says: ~ there is no need to indulge in rituals, to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman

~then why indulge in rituals.

Sage Sankara says: ~ there is no need to indulge in yoga, to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman

~then why indulge in yoga.

Sage Sankara says the transparent Truth of the Self, which is hidden by the illusion, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, (Gnani)

~ then why you are sticking a Guru who is not a Gnani.

Sage Sankara says: ~ “The exercise in discrimination between real and unreal and renunciation of the false is real meditation, then why you are indulging in other types of meditation.

Those who tell you that Brahman is unity, that you can get it only by intuition, that you should not reason, you should not question or inquire, are deluding you. Verification must come by thought.  : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Find out:~ What is it that appears as duality and what is it that disappear nonduality?+

Sage Sankara says: ~ “What is accepted without a proper inquiry will not lead to the final Goal”. (Commentary on Vedanta Sutra)

Nothing has to be accepted as truth without verification.

‘WHO AM ‘I’? and ‘I AM THAT are only stages. They are helpful at the beginning of the pursuit of truth. As the seeker advances in his quest for truth, he finds them inadequate and useless.

The inner journey will not end with ‘WHO AM ‘I’? and ‘I AM THAT the journey is incomplete. It is WHO AM ‘I’? and ‘I AM THAT teaching are final because they are only based on the form and they omit the time and space.

The journey will be completed only when we discover the truth of the whole that is the form, time, and space together. Thus, sticking to WHO AM ‘I’? and ‘I AM THAT teaching as final and stopping the journey is a foolish venture.

If you are a serious seeker of truth and you want to realize the truth of your true existence then you must be ready to drop what is not needed in pursuit of truth. Nothing has to be accepted without deeper verification.

If the ‘I’ is true, let it then be perceived in the state of deep sleep also. As it is not at all perceived, it must be unreal and false like dreams.

All the teachings are useless so long as the highest Truth is unknown, and it is equally useless when the highest Truth has already been known.

The seeker has to dive deeper and deeper to unfold the mystery of his true existence.

The basic purpose of seeking truth is to discover the truth of our true existence. The truth of our true existence will be revealed only by discovering the source of physical existence. Physical existence means the universe

Remember:~

First, analyze the universe. How this universe came into existence. And what this universe is supposed to be in truth.

As you go deeper and deeper analyzing you will discover that the universe is dependent on the ‘I’. Without the ‘I’ the universe ceases to exist.

The ‘I’ is the main ingredient to investigate.

As you go deeper you will find: ~

The ‘I’ appears along with the universe.

The ‘I’ disappears along with the universe.

As you go still deeper you will find.

The ‘I’ is there only when the mind is there.

The ‘I’ appears along with the mind.

The ‘I’ disappears along with the mind.

As you go deeper you will find: ~

The mind appears along with the universe.

The mind disappears along with the universe.

As you go deeper you will find: ~

The universe appears along with the waking experience

The universe disappears along with the waking experience.

As you go deeper you will find: ~

The dream universe appears along with the dream.

The dream universe disappears along with the dream.

The dream is a parallel waking experience

The waking experience is a parallel dream.

As you go deeper you will find: ~

‘I’ disappears in deep sleep.

Along with the ‘I', the mind disappears.

Along with ‘I', the universe disappears.

Along with ‘I', the waking disappears.

Along with the ‘I’ dream disappears.

So,

‘I’ is one behind the mind.

The ‘I’ is the one behind the universe.

The ‘I’ is the one behind the waking.

The ‘I’ is the one behind the dream.

So,

Where this ‘I’ disappeared in deep sleep.

As you go deeper you will find: ~

The duality is present only when ‘I’ is present.

The duality is present only when the mind is present.

The duality is present only when the universe is present.

The duality is present only when the waking is present.

The duality is present only when the dream is present.

But

The duality is absent in deep sleep.

The ‘I’ is absent in deep sleep.

The mind is absent in deep sleep.

The universe is absent in deep sleep.

The waking is absent in deep sleep.

The dream is absent in deep sleep.

So,

In deep sleep, there is only nonduality.

So, you have to find out: What is it that appears as duality and what is it that disappears nonduality?
