Sanyasa or monkhood is not a qualification to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.+

The seeker of truth need not renounce worldly life and become a sanyasi. By becoming a sanyasi or Monk the ignorance will not vanish.

Sanyasa or monkhood is not a qualification to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.
Sage Sankara: ~ "Though I wear these robes of a Sanyasin, it is only for the sake of bread." (Select Works of Sage Sankara" also his commentary on Brihad)
Thus, the above passage proves that all those who were the sanyasin robes are wearing them for the sake of bread belong to the religion; they are nothing to do with Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

Remember:~

A Gnani is one who has realized the ultimate truth or Brahman. In ultimate reality in which there is neither man nor the world, he is free from experiencing the form, time, and space as reality.

A Gnani has the world, acts and lives normally in it, but does not regard it as a separate thing.

Gnani is always aware of the Soul the Self, and though he sees a thousand things, will not forget them.

A Gnani will not show off nor boast; he is a commoner, and he never acts as an extraordinary one. Gnani does not want to think of the ego, therefore he does not do or say anything to make himself appear superior to others, or to pretend to know more than others.

Without realizing the Self is neither the waking entity nor the Self is a dream entity but the Self is the formless witness of the coming and going of the three states in succession.

Thus, one has to mentally grasp the existence of the formless witness, which is the soul. The soul is present in the form of consciousness.

Consciousness is within the three states and it is apart from the three states. It is within the three states as their formless substance and it is apart from the three states as their formless witness.

The real Gnani is he who knows reality, beyond form, time, and space. What exists for others as reality does not exist for him as reality. What people take for granted, he denies absolutely. He wants everyone to be soulcentric to realize the fact that, their body, their ego, and their experience of the world are merely an illusion created out of single stuff. And that single stuff is consciousness. Thus consciousness is second to none.

It takes a very long time to understand, and assimilate the Nondualistic truth. The seeker who has an urge, patience, humility, and sharpness to grasp the non-dualistic or Advaitic truth will sure to reach their ultimate understanding and realization.

The seeker will not need a Guru but the seeker will obey and follow his own reality hidden by the illusory form, time, and space. :~Santthosh Kumaar
