There is a clear-cut idea of God in the Vedas, Upanishad, and Bhagavad Gita. And also there is a clear-cut idea of what not to worship as God in place of real God.+

Hindus hold the Vedas and Upanishads as their authority and have to make sure what is God according to the Vedas and Upanishads then drop all the non-Vedic Gods and non-Vedic rituals and beliefs.

Vedas and Upanishads confirm the Soul, the Self, is present in the form of the Spirit or the consciousness.

There is a clear-cut idea of God in the Vedas, Upanishad, and Bhagavad Gita. And also there is a clear-cut idea of what not to worship as God in place of real God. Thus, it proves from the Vedic perspective the Puranic Gods are not Vedic Gods.

Mythological stories are a myth. Mythological Gods are a myth. Worshipping mythological heroes as God produces only myth. There is a need to realize ‘what God is supposed to be in actuality. Religion has been very influential.

Mythology is a synthesis. They are more concerned with synthesis than with truth. The attraction for synthesis is so strong that people accept it blindly without verifying its validity.

Mythology is a hodgepodge containing everything; hence it suits everyone because there is something in it for everyone. It is difficult to find any tradition whose voice is not found in mythology.

It is difficult to find anyone who does not take solace in mythology. But for such people, Self-Realization will prove very difficult Vedas say never to accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman.

Realize what is God in Vedas, and Upanishads. Bhagavad Gita and Bible. Rig Veda: ~ 'Prajnanam Brahma'- Consciousness is the ultimate reality or Brahman or God in truth.

Do not accept any other God other than the Athma. The Athma is God in truth, Nothing is real but the Athma, which is present in the form of consciousness. Nothing matters but realizing God in truth. God in truth is everywhere and in everything. Let these words be inscribed in your subconscious.

God in truth is hidden by the illusory universe. God in truth alone is real and eternal and all else is an illusion.

Brahman is merely a word to indicate the ultimate truth or God in truth. The ultimate truth itself is God in truth.

Rig Veda: ~ The Atman (Soul or Spirit) is the cause; Atman is the support of all that exists in this universe. May ye never turn away from the Atman, the Self. May ye never accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman?" (10:48, 5)

Prohibition of idol worship in Yajurveda: ~

Yajur Veda – chapter- 32:~ God is Supreme Spirit has no ‘Pratima’ (idol) or material shape. He cannot be seen directly by anyone. He pervades all beings and all directions.

Yajurveda: ~ There is no image of God in truth. God in truth is unborn and eternal. (Chapter 32, Verse 3)

Yajurveda: ~ God in truth is nondual and pure" (Chapter 40, Verse).

Yajurveda: ~ "They are entering darkness, those who worship the natural things (like air, water, fire, etc.), they are sinking more in darkness who worship created things." (Chapter 40, Verse 9)

Thus, Idolatry does not find any support from the Vedas.

Yajurveda: ~ "They are entering darkness, those who worship the natural things (like air, water, fire, etc.), they are sinking more in darkness who worship created things." (Chapter 40, Verse 9)

Bible says: ~ “God is a Spirit, and they that worship God must worship God in Spirit and in truth. (John 4:24)

The Spirit is the root element of the universe. The Spirit is present in the form of the Soul, the innermost Self. The Soul is present in the form of consciousness. From the Spirit, the universe comes into existence. In the Spirit, the universe resides. And into the Spirit, the universe is dissolved. The Spirit is the parent of all that is there.

In Manduka Upanishad Brahman and Atman are defined as the same.

Manduka Upanishad, verse 2:~All indeed is this Brahman; This Atman is Brahman; God, this Atman has four steps/quarters.

While Brahman lies behind the sum total of the objective universe, some human minds boggle at any attempt to explain it with only the tools provided by reason. Brahman is beyond the senses, beyond the mind, beyond intelligence, and beyond imagination.

Indeed, the highest idea is that Brahman is beyond both existence and non-existence, transcending and including time, causation, and space, and thus can never be known in the same material sense as one traditionally 'understands' a given concept or object.

Even Brihadaranyaka Upanishad: ~ Brahman (God in truth) is present in the form of the Athma, and it is indeed Athma itself. The

Bhagavad Gita: ~ ‘Brahmano hi pratisthaham’ ~ Brahman (God in truth) is considered the all-pervading consciousness, which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material. (14.27).

When Bhagavad Gita says, God is considered the all-pervading consciousness which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material then nothing has to be accepted as God other than consciousness.

Bhagavad Gita Chapter: - All those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires worship many Gods. (7- Verse -20)

Religious Gods based on blind faith are not God in truth. One must know God in truth.

Bhagavad Gita: 7: 19:~ "Such a man who has attained Self-knowledge, the knowledge of Atman, realizes the Self as~ Atman that alone exists~ everything is Atman, there exists nothing except Atman. Such a man is extremely rare."

Bhagavad Gita Krishna says: ~It is only one amongst thousands of people who strive for spiritual salvation. Even amongst such seekers, it is only the rare person who gets to know “Self” correctly. (7.3)

Bhagavad Gita says: ~ Don't unsettle the minds of the ignorant by revealing the esoteric truth."

Lord Krishna says Ch ~V: ~ “Those who know the ‘Self’ in truth.". The last two words (tattvataha) are usually ignored by pundits, but they make all the difference between the ordinary concept of God and the truth about God.

The dualistic worship of "God” is only for the ignorant populace. The God in truth is only Atman, the innermost ‘Self’. In reality, there is no duality, no differentiation. Only Atman exists.

There is a clear-cut idea of God in the Vedas, Upanishad, and Bhagavad Gita. And also there is a clear-cut idea of what not to worship as God in place of real God. Thus, it proves from the Vedic perspective the Puranic Gods are not Vedic Gods.

Vedas says never to accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman. Hindus assert their religion is monotheistic, even though they honor a number of Gods, including Brahma the Creator, Vishnu the Preserver, and Shiva the Destroyer. Hindus claim these various Gods are all manifestations of the oneness of the universe.

Hindu religious practices vary from place to place, but they frequently include yoga, physical and mental discipline to harmonize body and Soul, and ritual bathing. Belief in multiple Gods,

The worship of idols and worship of images that are not God, The worship of sacred images, ancestor worship, pilgrimage, priestcraft, the belief in avatars or incarnations of God, and the hereditary caste system on the grounds that all these lack Vedic sanction.

Hinduism indulges non-Vedic beliefs such as idolatry, ancestor worship, pilgrimages, priestcraft, offerings made in temples, the caste system, untouchability, and child marriages. All these lack Vedic sanctions, therefore, Hinduism is not Ancient Vedic religion or Santana Dharma.

Religious Gods are not God in truth. One must know God in truth. Those who are seeking truth have to discard inherited beliefs. There is no need to criticize their inherited religion but it is for the seekers to realize the religion is meant for the ignorant people who are unable to grasp the real God.

Thus, it is necessary to realize what is God according to the Vedas, Upanishads, and Bhagavad Gita for their own personal information. Many Gods and Goddesses with different forms and names are not of the Santana Dharma or veridic religion.

The Vedic God is Atma. The Atma is the ‘Self’, which is present in the form of the Spirit or the consciousness. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Until you discard religion you will never be able to realize the Advaitic truth, which is hidden by dualistic illusion or Maya.+

People in India identify Advaita and Dvaita as their religious traditions inherited from their ancestors. No one questions their validity because it is considered blasphemy to question their religion, their Guru, and Godmen or the pundits.

The Advaitic wisdom of Sage Sankara is pure spirituality. Advaitic wisdom is nothing to do with religion and yoga and philosophies. All Advaitic teachings of the Gurus of the east and west are not Advaitic wisdom of Sage Sankara.

Advaita is universal. Advaita is the nature of the Soul, the Self. The world in which you exist is created out of single stuff. That single stuff is consciousness. Knowledge of the single stuff is Advaitic wisdom.

Advaitic truth is very simple, but it is very difficult to realize because you have accumulated mental garbage from different sources in the name of Advaita.

Until you discard religion you will never be able to realize the Advaitic truth, which is hidden by dualistic illusion or Maya.

The Advaita is the nature of the Soul, the innermost Self shines in its own awareness when wisdom dawns.

The Advaita is the Soul is the cause and the support of all that exists as the world in which we exist. Advaita is the nature of God, the innermost Self.

The Advaita is present in the form of consciousness. Advaita is the root element of the universe. From the Advaita, the universe comes into existence. In the Advaita, the universe resides. And into the Advaita, the universe is dissolved. The Advaita is the parent of all that is there.

People who are attached to their religious code of conduct and trying to preach Advaita, that is mixing the individual life, and the concept of God and all mixed up hotchpotch religious doctrine and feed the seeking people are themselves not aware of the fact that the individuality and their worldly life is part of the illusion.

Religion is based on the blind belief as truth whereas Spirituality or Adyathma is based on the Athma the ultimate truth or Brahman.

Religion should be discarded in order to realize the real God hidden by ignorance. Religion is regarded as sacred and real by the common people, by the wise as false, and by the political class as useful.

Religion preaches that God is one and the ways to God are many. It simply tries to lead them to darkness with its dogma and idea of many Gods, which is apart from the Self.

Religion is based on the false self (ego) and false experience (world) thus; all religious beliefs are a falsehood.

Everyone likes religion because it belongs to the world of sentiments and emotions. Religion changes as it appeals to different emotions. One will find at one pole the nude Sadhu is admired; at the other, the gorgeous life-styled Godman is revered. Belief in religious prohibitions arises out of fear of God's punishment.

The man himself suggests that there must be a God. It is an auto-suggestion. To say that one knows God exists always implies he must also exist always. It would be correct to say at this point, he does not know about the existence of God because God's existence depends on the individualized belief

People magnify every minor coincidence or every petty fact where yogis or Good men were concerned, and they see the miraculous or esoteric significance therein.

Religion is dualistic truth. Spirituality is based on Advatic truth. This means a believer takes his feeling of truth whereas the seeker of truth takes his reasoned judgment, which will be the same under test everywhere in the universe.

The position of the seeker of truth is this: he has not seen God. He does not know his capacities, what God can do, and what God cannot do. Therefore any statement he might make about God would only be a lie.

The seeker of truth does not wish to tell a lie. Therefore he does not accept God nor deny Him; he simply refuses to make any statement about God.

Each sect concocts a God to suit its own purposes. Belief in such concocted Gods is a great hindrance in the pursuit of truth. The man himself suggests that there must be a God. It is an auto-suggestion. Prayers and sacrifices belong to a premature stage of development. When no answers come to prayers to their blind belief-based God, then doubt arises about the existence of such God. Belief in religion weakens as man pays more attention to the facts of his practical life within the practical world.

People who argue that truth is only in their religion are vain logicians based on mere ideas, and imaginations. Religions that say "If one follows the religion they will go to heaven, while others “go to hell," are stories invented on the base of false Self within the false experience.

Religious truth is not the ultimate truth because it always shows a contradiction. A contradiction arises because a different person's interpretation may disagree with others.

Remember:~

Brihadaranyaka Upanishad says:~ "He who worships the deities as entities entirely separate from him does not know the truth. For the Gods, he is like a pasu (beast)". (1. 4. 10)

Sage Sankara said:~Talk as much philosophy as you like, worship as many Gods as you please, observe ceremonies, and sing devotional hymns, but liberation will never come, even after a hundred aeons, without realizing the Oneness.

Rituals prayers and ceremonies of different religions and cults are not a tool for Self-realization. They keep one in the cage of ignorance.

Attachment to the rigid devotion to the religious beliefs of God limits one to thinking within the framework of the illusory division of form, time, and space.

Diverse beliefs of religion and its diverse idea of God create divisions between one religion and another. The rituals and ceremonies become an obstacle in realizing the religious God one believes and worships is not God in truth. Religion becomes an obstacle to realizing the real God hidden by ignorance.

The seeker of truth is keener to realize the ‘Self hidden by the dualistic illusion. The seeker of truth has only one desire and longing — that of union with the Soul or God in truth.

A seeker is never entangled in the religion, rituals, yoga, and physical Gurus and never allows himself to be overpowered by any attachment emotions and sentiment

The rituals mentioned in the karmakanda of the Vedas are sought to be negated in the jnanakanda which is also part of the same scripture. While the karmakanda enjoins upon you the worship of various deities and lays down rules for the same, the jnanakanda constituted by the Upanishads ridicules the worshipper of deities as a dim-witted person no better than a beast.

This seems strange, the latter part of the Vedas contradicting the former part. The first part deals throughout with karma, while the second or concluding part is all about jnana. Owing to this difference, people have gone so far as to divide our scripture into two sections: the Vedas (that is the first part) to mean the karmakanda and the Upanishads (Vedanta) to mean the jnanakanda.

Bhagavad Gita: ~ ‘All those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires, they worship many Gods. (7- Verse -20)

Only the path of wisdom leads the seeker of truth on his journey to the ultimate realization of the true nature of the Universal Essence, which is the Soul, the ultimate truth, or Brahman or God in truth.

Bhagavad Gita: 7: 19:~ "Such a man who has attained Self -knowledge, the knowledge of Atman, Atman is God in truth alone exists~ everything is Atman, there exists nothing except Atman. Such a man is extremely rare.

Sage Sankara:~ VC- v6~ Let erudite scholars quote all the scripture, let Gods be invoked through sacrifices, let elaborate rituals be performed, let personal Gods be propitiated---yet, without the realization of one‘s identity With the Self, there shall be no liberation for the individual, not even in the lifetimes of a hundred Brahmas put together

Remember:

Religious Gods are based on blind belief. Belief is not God. Religious God cannot be considered as the center because the Soul, the ‘Self’ is the center of all that exists. Without the Soul the world in which you exist ceases to exist, which means the religious God is dependent on the Soul for his existence. God in truth is only the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Even Bhagavad Gita says: ~ “Brahmano hi pratisthaham” ~ Brahman (God in truth) is considered the all-pervading consciousness, which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material. (14.27).

When Bhagavad Gita says, God is considered the all-pervading consciousness which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material then nothing has to be accepted as God other than consciousness.

Even Brihadaranyaka Upanishad: ~ Brahman (God in truth) is present in the form of the Athma, and it is indeed Athma itself.

Even Rig Veda: ~ The Atman is the cause; Atman is the support of all that exists in this universe. May ye never turn away from the Atman, the Self. May ye never accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman?" (10:48, 5)

Rig Veda: ~ 'Prajnanam Brahma'- Consciousness is the ultimate reality or Brahman or God in truth.

God in truth is the Atman, the Self. Atman is present in the form of consciousness. Do not accept any other God other than Atman not worship other than Atman. Let these words be inscribed in your subconscious.

Nothing is real but God. Nothing Matters but love for God in truth. God in truth is everywhere and in everything. God in truth is hidden by the illusory universe. God in truth alone is and all else is an illusion.

Brihadaranyaka Upanishad:~ "He who worships the deities as entities entirely separate from the Self does not know the truth. For the Gods, he is like a pasu (beast)". (1. 4. 10)

No mantras help to get rid of ignorance. All the mantras and rituals are meant for the ignorant populace, which strongly believes, in the world in which they exist as a reality. For one who wants to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana, the mantas will not help to realize the truth, which is beyond form, time, and space.

That is why Sage Sankara:~ VC- 61- For one who has been bitten by the serpent of Ignorance, the only remedy is the knowledge of Brahman. Of what avail are the Vedas and (other) Scriptures, Mantras (sacred formulae), and medicines to such a one?

VC- v6~ Let erudite scholars quote all the scripture, let Gods be invoked through sacrifices, let elaborate rituals be performed, let personal Gods be propitiated---yet, without the realization of one‘s identity With the Self, there shall be no liberation for the individual, not even in the lifetimes of a hundred Brahmas put together

Sage Sankara goes on to say: ~A sickness of not cured by saying the word “medicine.” You must take the medicine. Liberation does not come by merely saying the word “Brahman.” Brahman must be experienced. Until you allow this apparent universe to dissolve from your consciousness until you have realized Brahman, how can you find liberation just by saying the word Brahman? The result is merely noise. Until a man has destroyed his enemies and taken possession of the splendor and wealth of the kingdom, he cannot become a king by simply saying “I am a king.”

A buried treasure is not uncovered by merely uttering the words: “Come forth.” You must follow the right directions, dig, remove the stones and earth from above it, and then make it, your own. In the same way, the pure truth of the Atman, which is buried under Maya and the effects of Maya, can be reached by meditation, contemplation, and other spiritual disciplines but never by subtle arguments.

As indicated in ISH Upanishads: ~ “By worshipping Gods and Goddesses you will go after death to the world of Gods and Goddesses. But will that help you? The time you spent there is wasted because if you were not there you could have spent that time moving forward towards Self-knowledge, which is your goal. In the world of Gods and Goddesses, you cannot do that, and thus, you go deeper and deeper into darkness.

It clearly indicates that: -If the human goal is to acquire Self-Knowledge then why one has to indulge in rituals and glorify the conceptual Gods, Goddesses, and Gurus to go into deeper darkness. Instead, spend that time moving forward towards Self-knowledge, which is one’s prime goal. :~Santthosh Kumaar

Vasudaiva Kutumbakam, which means:- ‘the whole earth is a family, and ‘Sarve jana sukhino bhavantu’ which means ‘May all humans live happily.+

Sage Sankara varied his practical advice and doctrinal teaching according to the people he was amongst. He never advised them to give up their particular religion or beliefs or metaphysics completely; he only told them to give up the worst features of abuse: at the same time he showed just one step forward toward the truth. Sage Sankara was extremely precise and careful in his choice of words.

Even the Advaita Sage Sankara gave religious, ritual, and dogmatic instruction to the mass but pure philosophy only to the few who could rise to it. Hence the interpretation of his writings by commentators is often confusing because they mix up the two viewpoints. Thus, they may assert that ritual is a means of realizing Brahman, which is absurd.

Remember:~

Sage Sankara endeavored towards establishing the Vedic religion overthrowing Buddhism but Sage Sankara's inability to revive the Vedic religion that flourished before the Buddhist revolution in its pure form is discernible.

Santana Dharma was not the religion of the Hindus, nor were the Vedic people Hindus, nor will the Hindus of today approve of the replacement of the term ‘Hinduism’ with Santana Dharma. None can say exactly when the Aryans became Hindus because neither the name Hindu nor its major beliefs and practices existed in the Vedic times.

To this, one must add the marginal place the Vedic gods occupy in today’s Hindu pantheon. In addition, as we have seen, the Vedas themselves are not attractive to most of today’s Hindus as sacred texts. The Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bhagavad-Gita, Puranas, and Manusmriti, may have more to do with the Hinduism of today than the Vedas.

To be considered an orthodox Hindu one need only accept the authority of Shruti, however, there is no universal agreement among Hindus on what constitutes Shruti. Vedantins consider the Vedanta, i.e., the Upanishads as Shruti but also include the Bhagavad-Gita and Brahma Sutras as authoritative. For some Vaishnavas, the Bhagavata Purana is to be considered Veda. Some consider the Tantras are considered Veda. Thus, we find that there is ample scope for different ideologies, philosophies, and practices under the very broad umbrella of Hinduism.

Hindus indulge in non-Vedic beliefs such as idolatry, ancestor worship, pilgrimages, priestcraft, offerings made in temples, the caste system, untouchability, and child marriages. All these lack Vedic sanctions, therefore, Hinduism is not Ancient Santana Dharma.

It is clear that there is no direct ancestry of modern Hinduism traceable in the Vedas, though it does have some influence on it “The Vedic corpus reflects the archetypal religion of those who called themselves Aryas, and which, although it contributed to facets of latter-day Hinduism, was nevertheless distinct”.

All Hindus indulge in non-Vedic practices barred by the Vedas introduced by the different founders of the different sects of Hinduism at different times, whereas the Santana Dharma is ancient and has no founder.

Hinduism is not Vedic religion or Santana Dharma. Hindus do idol worship, while Vedas bar idol worship.

Remember:~

Caste-infected Hinduism is nothing to do with the Sanatana Dharma because Rigveda prohibits the very concept of castes by birth.

The caste system which is so integral to Hinduism was also not practiced in the Vedic times.

The Book of Manu was made by Manu Dharma Shastra. The Book of Manu was a book that originated in India. This book of Manu was given a false spiritual interpretation by orthodoxy. And this book was projected as ‘Manu Dharma Shastra’ by orthodoxy. It is the Manu Dharma Shastra that is the foundation and cause of caste discrimination.

There is hardly any evidence of a rigid caste system in the Vedas. It is argued that the purushasuktahymn of the Rig Veda (X.90) which is often referred to in order to give a religious sanction to the caste system was a later interpolation.

The Vedas, however, speak of various classes of people, which appear to have been names of professions, and they were not hereditary.

The very concepts of castes by birth, upper/lower castes, superior/inferior castes, outcastes, untouchables, Dalits, etc. are clearly prohibited by Rig-Veda”.

The existing caste system in India is the misinterpretation of the ancient Vedic system where powerful priest lobbies have to mislead society over a period of time for their own selfish gains.

Varna (called caste today even though they are totally different) system was used where the son of a carpenter was preferred to be a carpenter, the son of a warrior was preferred to be a warrior, etc so that expertise gets collected over a period of generations. Knowledge gained in a particular field was passed on from generation to generation, and this kept adding up in every successive generation. But there were no restrictions for children to choose alternate professions.

Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is possible only when the religion and caste system.

The concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam originates from Hitopadesha. Hitopadesha is a collection of Sanskrit fables in prose and verse.

Until the falsity of religion and its idea of God is not exposed world peace and universal brotherhood are impossible.+

At no point in time in history, the world was at peace. History speaks the wars, violence, and terrorism in the name of religion and God.

Universal brotherhood is an impossibility with diverse religious beliefs and the idea of God, lifestyles, and cultures.
Everyone thinks his religion is superior to another religion, so there is no universality in any religion.
Until religion and the ideas of religious Gods are taken as a reality, wars, violence, and terrorism will continue.
Until people become more and more rational and try to realize God in truth, religion will dominate.
Until one realizes the falsity of the religion and religious Gods, is exposed the world will remain in turmoil of unrest.
It is time to realize God in truth. God in truth is universal. God does not belong to any religion, caste, creed, cult, and race, or nationality. God in truth is universal because God is Advaita.

It is not possible to bring order in the restless world without realizing the truth of our true existence hidden by ignorance. To realize the truth it is necessary to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.
Religion is regarded as sacred and real by the common people, by the wise as false, and by the political class as useful.

Democracy and religion will not go hand in hand. Democracy has its own code of conduct and religion has its own. So there is always conflict. Religion is outdated to suit modern society.

Remember:~

It is necessary to Humanize, equalize, and Spiritualize the world with Knowledge of truth to bring world peace and universal brotherhood.

Until and unless the whole of humanity is made aware of God in truth, not the religious God based on blind faith people believe and worship, the wars, violence, and terrorism which are going on in the name of God and religion continue.
Until the falsity of religion and its idea of God is not exposed world peace and universal brotherhood are impossible.

God is nothing but an existence that is free from ignorance. When the truth of God is revealed through wisdom then that truth will set humanity free from ignorance.
The existing world, world leaders, and governments lacked these qualities because they strongly believed in the religious myth and indulge in wars and violence, and terrorism in the name of their inherited religion and Religious God.
To "Spiritualize" world society is very difficult. The world religions laid too much stress on rituals, prayers, and on the performance of family and social duties, rather than on 'Spirituality'.
Only by upholding the Spiritual aspect, denounced many social structures and customs based on religion.
Man-made laws in the name of God and used religion as a tool, which divided the human society, which suffers from the effect of wars, violence, and terrorism.
Democracy and religion will not go hand in hand. Democracy has its own code of conduct and religion has its own. So there is always conflict.
Religion is regarded as sacred and real by the common people, by the wise as false, and by the political class as useful.
Religion is outdated to suit modern society. Until and unless the whole of humanity is made aware of what God is supposed to be in truth, humanity will suffer from wars, violence, and terrorism in the name of religion and its ideas of God.
God in truth is not religious. God is universal and belongs to the whole of humanity. All Gods based on blind beliefs are imaginary.
Spirituality is the only answer to replace the outdated religion which is the cause of wars, violence, and terrorism in the name of protecting God and religion.
Advaita is pure Spirituality that will help to bring unity in humanity.:~Santthosh Kumaar

Agamas do not derive their authority from the Vedas but are not antagonistic to them.+

Agamas do not derive their authority from the Vedas but are not antagonistic to them. They are all non-Vedic in spirit and character. They are regarded as sacred by the priest-craft who indulge in non-Vedic worship and practices.

Santana Dharma has nothing to do with the Puranas, Mahabharata, and Ramayana too. There are myths in Hinduism, but those myths are contained in the Agamas.

The Agamas have their own myths about the gods and do not rely on the Puranic myths at all. Agamic myths are different from Puranic myths in the same stories.

For instance, in the birth of Lord Ganesha, where it is stated that Lord Shiva and Uma took the form of elephants and created Ganesha out of love, which is entirely different from the Puranic and Mahabharata version.

Most people in the West also in India find it hard to digest the historical truth, but rather keep parroting that the Vedas and Upanishads are the source and pinnacle of Hinduism because they are unaware of the fact that, Hinduism has nothing to do with the Vedic religion and Santana Dharma.

The erroneous, but prevalent popular notion is that the Agamas ultimately derived from the Vedas or are an amplification of it. This is usually said to find comfort. But the fact is the Agamas preceded the Vedas. It does not derive from the Vedas nor does it amplify anything from the Vedas. The Agamas have their own philosophy.

Hinduism, consisting of Saivism, Vaishnavism, and Saktism, comprising practically 98% of the Hindu believers, whether they know it or not, abide by the philosophy of the Agamas, and not that of the Upanishads.

Where does that leave the Vedas, Upanishads, Puranas, Mahabharata, Bhagavad-Gita, and Ramayana? At best as unrelated supplemental readings.

These supplementary texts have nothing to do with the temples, festivals, sacraments, or philosophy, which is the core of the religious and spiritual life of the Hindu. Along with it, all of its teachings and philosophy, including Varna. For there is no varna in the Agamas!

It is better to hold the view that the Agamas, and the Vedas with their related texts the Upanishads, Puranas, Itihasas, and commentaries, were two parallel and independent streams with much conformity and similarity, except that the Veda stream was eventually replaced completely by the Agama stream. What exists today is the Agama tradition, with the Veda tradition only in name.

That is why Astavakra says: ~ “My child you may speak upon various scriptures or hear the sermons on the scriptures. But you cannot establish in the ‘Self’ unless you forget all. 16-1 – p49:~ Santthosh Kumaar

The seeker has to make sure of the unreal nature of the ‘I’, which appears and disappears in order to realize the truth, hidden ignorance.+

Most of the Gurus' and Yogis' approach was more practical, and they stuck with the reality of the 'I', they take it as real.

All their teachings of Advaita are based on the dualistic perspective. They describe marvelously the goal but do not indicate the steps to be taken: their recurring phrases "unified consciousness" and "let go" and "'love alone" are not a roadmap. Such teaching will not yield the truth of the whole.

Many Gurus describe perfection is the awakening to Reality ~the realization that pure Consciousness alone is, that the perpetually fluctuating and evanescent contents of the mind derive from it. This awakening effectively happens in an instant. But in order for the lightning flash to take place, resulting in a firm and unshakable certitude, long labor is necessary, which they seem to underestimate. “Truth is formless is their answer.

Many Guru's teaching seems essentially negative, potent but bitter medicine for those imprisoned by institutional cults. They break the disciple's bonds but then lead him to a vast desert where they abandon him.

The ‘I’ is blocking your realization of truth. The ‘I’ based teachings have to be discarded in order to realize the Advaitic reality.

The seeker has to make sure what is this ‘I’ supposed to be in actuality? The seeker has to make sure of the unreal nature of the ‘I’, which appears and disappears in order to realize the truth,  hidden ignorance.

That is why Bhagavad Gita: ~ “The permanent is always there, only the transient ‘I’ comes and goes. (2.18)

The ‘I’ hides the truth of the Soul.

Where there is ‘I’ there is ignorance.

Where there is ignorance there is separation.

Where there is a separation there is duality.

Where there is duality there is an illusion.

Where there is an illusion there is the mind.

Where there is the mind there is the universe.

Where there is the universe there is waking or dream.
Where there is the universe there is waking or dream there is form, time, and space.

But remember:~

Where there is no ‘I’ there is no ignorance.

Where there is no ignorance there is no separation.

Where there is no separation there is no duality.

Where there is no duality there is an illusion.

Where there is no illusion there is no mind.

Where there is no mind there is no universe.
