Self-inquiry is for finding out the ‘Self’ which is hidden by the illusory universe, in which we exist.+

Self-inquiry is for finding out the ‘Self’ which is hidden by the illusory universe, in which we exist.

By inquiring ‘Who am I?’- the ignorance will not vanish. Without getting rid of ignorance, the Advaitic wisdom will not dawn. Without the Advaitic wisdom, it is not possible to realize the truth, which is hidden within the world in which we exist.

That is why Sage Sankara says: ~ VC-63- Without causing the objective universe to vanish and without knowing the truth of the ‘Self’ how is one to achieve Liberation by the mere utterance of the word Brahman? — It would result merely in an effort of speech.

Sage Sankara says ~ “What is accepted without a proper inquiry will not lead a person to the final goal. On the contrary, such acceptance will result only in evil, in something detrimental to our spiritual progress.

Sage Sankara says the transparent truth of the Self, which is hidden by the illusion, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, (Gnani).

By inquiring Who is that you.  Noting is gained. The inquirer himself is the ego.  Without the ego, you do not exist.  The Self is not you because you are the ego.

The Self is not you but the Self is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

The seeker has to drop all his egocentric accumulated knowledge and only then he is fit to grasp the Self-knowledge.

Remember: ~

You are not separate from the ego because you are the ego. Without the ego, you and the world in which you exist cease to exist. In the awareness of the ego, the world in which you exist is a reality.

In the awareness of the ego, your individual experience of birth, life, death, and the world is experienced as a reality.

In the awareness of the ego, form, time, and space prevail as a reality.

In the awareness of the ego, the dualistic illusion, or Maya prevails as reality.

In the awareness of the ego, the three states prevail as reality.

In the awareness of the ego, the ‘I’ prevails as a reality.

If ‘I’ prevails as reality the ignorance prevails as reality.

Self-knowledge or Advaitic wisdom is necessary to get rid of ignorance.

Without Self-awareness, the universe prevails as reality. Self-awareness means the conscious awareness of the Soul hidden by the ‘I’. In Self-awareness, the reality of the universe fades away.

Sage Sankara says liberation comes, but only through the realization that Atman and Brahman are one in no other way. (1) VivekaChudamani v 56, pg 25: ~Santthosh Kumaar

The source of the thoughts is the ego. Without the ego, the thoughts will not arise.+

Thinker, thoughts, and the world in which the thinker exists have nothing to do with the Soul, the Self, which is hidden by ignorance.

Those who think by inquiring to whom the thoughts come from will not be able to realize the ‘Self’ because they are thinking the ‘Self is within their body. The ‘Self’ is not within the body but it is hidden by the universe, which is the dualistic illusion or Maya.

Thoughts and thinker and the world in which the thinker exists belong to the dualistic illusion. Without form, ti
me, and space the thoughts will not form.

Thoughts come to the thinker. The thinker is an individual whereas the ‘Self is not an individual.

The source of the thoughts is the ego. Without the ego, the thoughts will not arise. Thoughts and thinker and the world in which the thinker exists have nothing to do with the Soul, the ‘Self, which is hidden by the dualistic illusion (I).

You are the thinker. The thoughts come to you. You are bound by form, time, and space whereas

The Soul, the Self is a formless, timeless, and spaceless existence. The thoughts will not rise in the domain of the Soul, the ‘Self’ because it is the ever-formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.

The thoughts come to the thinker within the universe, which is the dualistic illusion or Maya. Without the dualistic illusion or Maya the thinker, thoughts, and the world in which the thinker exists cease to exist

Therefore, just by finding out to whom the thoughts come? Who is the knower? it is impossible to realize the truth, which is beyond form, time, and space. A perfect understanding of ‘what is what' is what is very much necessary to cross the threshold of the dualistic illusion. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Religion blocks one from realizing God in truth because religion is based on myth whereas Spirituality is based on the ultimate truth.+

Religion blocks one from realizing God in truth because religion is based on myth whereas Spirituality is based on the ultimate truth.

God in truth is not based on your inherited blind faith or belief. The Religions are based on personal God whereas Sage Sankara’s Supreme Brahman (God) is impersonal, Nirguna (without Gunas or attributes), Nirakara (formless), Nirvisesha (without special characteristics), immutable, eternal, and Akarta (non-agent). God is above all needs and desires. God is always the Witnessing Subject. God can never become an object as God is beyond the reach of the senses. God is non-dual, one without a second. God has no other besides it. God is destitute of difference, either external or internal. God cannot be described because description implies a distinction. God cannot be distinguished from any other than God. In God, there is not a distinction between substance and attribute. Sat-Chit-Ananda constituted the very essence or Svarupa of God, and not just God's attributes. The Nirguna Brahman of Sage Sankara is impersonal.

The Soul, the Self is unborn, and undifferentiated consciousness is God in truth.

The Vedas confirm God is Atman (Spirit), the Self.

Rig Veda: ~ 'Prajnanam Brahma'- Consciousness is the ultimate reality or Brahman or God in truth.

God in truth is the Atman, the Self. Atman is present in the form of consciousness.

Do not accept any other God other than Atman not worship other than Atman.

Let these words be inscribed in your subconscious.

Nothing is real but God. Nothing Matters but love for God in truth. God in truth is everywhere and in everything.

God in truth is hidden by the illusory universe. God in truth alone is and all else is an illusion

Yajurveda – chapter- 32: ~   God is Supreme Spirit has no ‘Pratima’ (idol) or material shape. God cannot be seen directly by anyone. God pervades all beings and all directions.

Thus, Idolatry does not find any support from the Vedas.

Vedas itself says: May ye never accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman? Thus, to know the real God Self-realization is necessary. Self-realization is God-realization. Self-realization is real worship.

Rig Veda: ~ The Atman is the cause; Atman is the support of all that exists in this universe. May ye never turn away from the Atman, the Self. May ye never accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman?" (10:48, 5)

Religion makes it complicated to realize the God in truth hidden by the ignorance obscures from human vision.: ~Santthosh Kumaar

If you realize the Self is not you but the Soul then you are on the right path.+

If you realize the Self is not you but the Soul then you are on the right path.  If you realize the Soul is the ultimate truth and the universe is an illusion with firm conviction then you have acquired Advaitic Gnana.

If people have believed a false thing over millions of years, the length of time does not prove it true.

When the sky, clouds, and the world in which you exist are made of single clay then there is no second thing that exists, other than that clay. That clay is the Soul, which is formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.

Reality is hidden by the unreality. The world in which we exist hides the truth.  Whatever belongs to you is unreal. The words and thoughts belong to you, not to the Soul, which is the Self.

Whatever has a name and form and attributes and whatever belongs to form, time and space is an illusion. The illusion hides the Spirit, which is God in truth.  The illusion and Spirit are one in essence.  Spirit, the God alone is real and eternal. :~Santthosh Kumaar

The Advaitic wisdom of Sage Sankara reveals both the real and the unreal nature of existence.+

The Advaitic wisdom of Sage Sankara reveals both the real and the unreal nature of existence.

The universe is both real and unreal. It is real because it is a manifestation of consciousness, but is unreal, in the sense, that it is not absolute and eternal like consciousness itself.

People's approach is more practical, and they stuck with the reality of the universe, they take the universe as real. That is why all the confusion.

The look of an object will depend upon the medium through which the observer views it. In fact, our mental and intellectual conditions determine the universe, which confronts us, observed, and experienced. The commoner viewing the world will see differently from a Gnani viewing the same world. Each one interprets the world that they see in terms of their existing knowledge. The commoner sees everything based on the ego and therefore experiences birth, life, death, and the universe as a reality, whereas a Gnani sees everything as consciousness and he is fully aware of the fact that, there is no second thing that exists other than the Soul or consciousness.

Thus, all the egocentric knowledge has to be bifurcated to realize the ultimate truth, which is beyond form, time, and space.

The universe in which we exist is nothing but an illusion created out of the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

The whole universe is nothing but the Soul. Therefore, there is no second thing that exists other than the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

It is not as if something that was not consciousness suddenly becomes consciousness. Rather, "knowing the truth” means the removal of ignorance about one's own existence as consciousness. Thus, to "know the truth” is to "be consciousness."

Consciousness is ever-present. Without consciousness, the universe, in which you exist ceases to exist.    Consciousness is Self-evident. It is not established by extraneous proofs. It is not possible to deny consciousness, because it is the very essence of the one who denies it.

Consciousness is the basis of all kinds of knowledge, presuppositions, and proofs. Consciousness is everything. Thus, consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

A Gnani mentally observes invisible consciousness hidden by the visible universe without illusory form, time, and space.+

A Gnani mentally observes invisible consciousness hidden by the visible universe without illusory form, time, and space.

To a Gnani the universe is illusory, because, his views and judgment of the worldview are based on the Soul, the Self.

The universe appears as the waking or dream (duality) and disappears as deep sleep (nonduality. The Soul, the Self is free of the duality in the state of deep sleep but still unconscious of its own nature.

The Soul is in the cage of ignorance in the state of waking or dream because it is still unaware of its true nature.

The universe, which appears as the waking experience is like a dream.  A Gnani is always established in the Reality of Self.

Religious people, the case is different because they have accepted their inherited Gods based on blind belief as real.

The Gnani has realized Consciousness as the God in truth. But the ideal of the religious person is the Personal God based on blind faith or belief. :~Santthosh Kumaar

There is no need to condemn Gurus, but there is a need to highlight how they become an obstacle in realizing the ultimate truth or Brahman.+

Some modern Gurus talk of surrendering to God without knowing what God is supposed to be in truth. Just by saying open your heart and surrender nothing happens. Playing with the words and playing with the emotions leads only to hallucinations.

The Guru who pretends to be Self-realized and plays with the emotions and sentiments of the seeker is a fraud, not a Gnani.

Only perfect understanding of 'what is what’ leads to truth realization. The Truth-realization is Self-realization. Self-realization is God-realization.

If you are seeking truth nothing but the truth then you must not get stuck to any Guru or yogi. Those who are seeking truth need not follow any Guru or any teaching.

Yoga Vasistha says: ~ Self-knowledge or knowledge of truth is not had by resorting to a Guru (preceptor) nor by the study of scripture, nor by good works: it is attained only through inquiry inspired by the company of wise (Gnani). One’s inner light alone is the means, naught else. When this inner light is kept alive, it is not affected by the darkness of inertia.

There is no need to condemn Gurus, but there is a need to highlight how they become an obstacle in realizing the ultimate truth or Brahman.

Swami Vivekananda said: ~ “You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher, but your own Soul.”

The Guru is useless so long as the ultimate truth is unknown, and the Guru is equally useless when the ultimate truth or Brahman has already been known.

A Guru is needed in the religious and the yogic path. There is no need for a Guru to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar
