That is why Sage Sankara said:~Talk as much philosophy as you like, worship as many gods as you please, observe ceremonies, and sing devotional hymns, but liberation will never come, even after a hundred eons, without realizing the Oneness.
If you are the truth seeker then it is better to spend time discovering the facts about your own existence than waste precious time attending Satsang, meeting Gurus and yogis, traveling from one place to another by reading bookfter books, by staying at Ashrams, and by the walking in the Himalayas.
Sage Sankara says ~ VC-162- There is no liberation for a person of mere book knowledge, howsoever well-read in the philosophy of Vedanta, so long as one does not give up the false identification with the body, sense organs, etc., which are unreal.

People dwelling in ignorance, but thinking themselves wise and erudite, go round and round by various blind beliefs and tortuous paths and practices, like the blind led by the blind.

All accumulated knowledge, accumulated from here and there leads the seeker away from realizing the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.

The seeker has to have a rational outlook to realize the truth, which is beyond form, time, and space.

The Soul, the Self is God. The Soul is present in the form of consciousness. Thus, consciousness itself is God in truth.

God in truth is not within you but the universe in which you exist is hidden God in truth because the universe in which you exist is created out of Godin truth,  which is present in the form of consciousness.

Thus, all those Gods people believe and all those Gods you worship aremade Gods because in reality God alone is real and the universe in which we exist is merely an illusion.

People talk about making the mind free, without knowing what this mind in actuality is. The mind itself is the illusory cage to the Soul, the Self.

It is necessary to realize what this mind ton order to free the Soul from the illusory cage of form, time, and space.

The mind is present in the form of the universe. The universe appears as a waking or dream (duality) and disappears as deep sleep (non-duality).

The mind will not die because the mind is merely an illusion. When wisdom dawns the unreal nature of the mind is exposed. The same way as the unreal nature of the dream was exposed when waking takes place.

Till you think you are an individual separate from this world you will remain in the realm of dualistic illusion. The dualistic illusion is the product of ignorance. When the Advaitic wisdom dawns, then the ignorance vanishes. When the ignorance vanishes, then the duality never remains a reality.

From the standpoint of the Soul, the Self, the world, in which we all exist is merely an illusion from the standpoint of the Soul, the  Self.

Rest in consciousness by realizing the world in which you exist is nothing but consciousness. The Soul is the fullness of the consciousness without division of form, time, and space. Thus, consciousness alone is real and eternal all else is merely an illusion created out of consciousness. : ~Santthosh Kumaar

Psychologists think that the deep sleep state is unconsciousness and they have absolutely no idea that unconsciousness is the non-dual nature of the Soul, the Self.+
