Sage Sankara’s wisdom reveals: ~ Atman is the only one ultimate reality or Brahman.+

Sage Sankara’s wisdom can be summed up in one sentence, ‘There is nothing else but Brahman. He says that Absolute Existence, Absolute Knowledge and Absolute Bliss is Real.

Sage Sankara’s wisdom reveals: ~ Atman is the only one ultimate reality or Brahman.
Advaita means the Soul, the Self, which is second to none. The Soul, which is present in the form of the Spirit or consciousness, is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.

Advaita is the nature of God, the Self. Advaita is God. Advaita is the fullness of consciousness.

Sage Sankara was criticized for his views on Maya (illusion) without understanding him.

Sage Sankara said:~

(1) Brahman (Atman) is real

(2) the universe is unreal,

(3) Brahman is the universe.

He did not stop at the second because the third explains the other two. It signifies that the universe is real if perceived as the ‘Self’ and unreal if perceived as apart from the Self. Hence, Maya or illusion and reality are one and the same.

Realists criticize the concept of illusion without understanding it. Sage Sankara said:~

(1) Consciousness (Atman) is real

(2) The universe is unreal,

(3) Consciousness is the universe because the universe is merely an illusion created out of consciousness.

One need not stop at the second because the third explains the other two. It signifies that the universe is real if perceived as the Self (Atman or consciousness) and unreal if perceived as apart from the Self (consciousness). Hence, illusion and reality are one and the same because both are one in essence.

Realizing the essence, which is the consciousness as the innermost Self, is Self-Realization or Truth-Realization or God- Realization.

Remember:~

The universe is not real. He says that Brahma and Atman are one. The ultimate and the Absolute Truth is the ‘Self’, which is one though appearing as many in different individuals. The individual has no reality. Only the ‘Self’ is real; the rest, mental and physical are but passing appearances.

All three states have to be resolutely weighed, and accurately, observed in the pursuit of truth. The seeker must inquire “What is this universe?”, “What is I?” Hence, a deeper inquiry is a necessary foundation. The Yogi who looks only inside and ignores the world throws away part of the materials needed to find the truth.

Without knowing the nature of the three states, it is impossible to know the truth. What is the use of trying to find his inner ‘Self’ before he understands the world, which confronts him? "The world which confronts him is also consciousness."

If the seeker does not make your induction from facts from the world before him then he has only drawn on his imaginations. Then he says “The Brahman is like this, or like that." but it will be only his mental construction.

Those who are of a dulled mind say that to be non-observant and to withdraw: keen powers of observation are desirable and will help, not hinder the pursuit of truth. The seeker has to take experiences as they come to him and he should not run away from the world in ascetic fear. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar
