Self-knowledge, when shared by an unqualified person, is not easily comprehended, because it is diversely regarded by disputants. But when it is shared by a Gnani, there can remain no more doubt about It.
Consciousness is subtler than the subtlest and not to be known through a perverted argument.
Sage Sankara restrained himself from parting the Advaitic wisdom or Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana to the mass and it was given only a selected few.
Advaitic wisdom or Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana was hidden from the masses who were not qualified and receptive to it.
Advaitic wisdom or Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana was not written down but was imparted orally to the chosen few.
Thus, religion was given to the mass and Advaitic wisdom or Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana was given to only a selected few.
Thus we find traces of Advaitic wisdom in the scriptures in the form of parables.
Brahman is not the space between two thoughts. Consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.
Even the Bhagavad Gita says: ~ Brahmano hi pratisthaham ~ Brahman (God in truth) is considered the all-pervading consciousness, which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material. (14.27).
When Bhagavad Gita says, that God is considered the all-pervading consciousness which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material then nothing has to be accepted as God other than consciousness.
If the Self is formless, then who is that who thinks? and to who is the thinker?
One has to become aware of the fact that, the thinker and his thoughts are part of the world which is an illusion and the Self is neither the thinker nor the thought, but the Self is that which is aware of the thinker, the thought, and the world together without the physical apparatus.
The people who are stuck with thinker and thought will never be able to cross the threshold of duality.
When the Self is neither the ego nor the body how can one experience anything which exists prior to the experience of form, time, and space?
How can one experience the non-dualistic bliss as a person within the illusion?
If the waking entity experiences the so-called bliss within the waking experience, then it is the false entity is experiencing the false experience within the falsehood because when wisdom dawns the unreal nature of the waking experience is exposed in the same way as the unreal nature of the dream was exposed when waking took place.
Man perceives the world within the waking or dream. The dream becomes unreal when waking takes place. Similarly, the waking becomes unreal when the waking entity becomes aware that the Self is neither the waking entity nor the dream entity, but the Self is the formless witness of the three states, which come and go in succession.
Thus, the witness (consciousness or Soul) and witnessed (mind or the universe or waking) are one in essence where there is the scope for anything to exist other than consciousness.
A Gnani is one who sees the three states in equanimity because he is fully aware that all the three states are merely an illusion created out of consciousness He sees everything as consciousness, even though he is in the midst of diversity.
Thus, what is the use of inquiring WHO AM I? when the Self is not ‘I’?.
The nature of the universe is restless. There is no permanent peace ever present in the universe.
Till one holds the universe as reality the duality will prevail as reality.
Till duality is there permanent peace is impossible to gain. Peace is the nature of the Soul, the Self.
The Soul is present in the form of consciousness. Self-awareness leads to the realm of Nondualistic peace, which is permanent and eternal.
Remember:~
Sage Sankara says: ~ A buried treasure is not uncovered by merely uttering the words: “Come forth.” You must follow the right directions, dig, remove the stones and earth from above it, and then make it your own. In the same way, the pure truth of the Atman, which is buried under Maya and the effects of Maya, can be reached by a perfect understanding of what is what but never by perverse arguments.
Sage Sankara: ~ “VC~ All this universe which through ignorance appears as of diverse forms, is nothing else but Brahman (Consciousness) which is absolutely free from all the limitations of Maya.
When you finally realize the ‘‘Self’ ‘is not you but the ‘‘Self’’ is the Soul then you will realize the world in which you exist is merely an illusion created out of the Soul. The Soul is present in the form of consciousness.
Sage Sankara: ~ VC~.63: "Without knowing and examining the universe, one can’t know the Truth, as the idea that the external world exists, won't go. It can go only by an inquiry into the nature of the external world.
Sage Sankara says: ~ “What is accepted without a proper inquiry will not lead a person to the final goal. On the contrary, such acceptance will result only in evil, something which is detrimental to our spiritual progress.
Sage Sankara says: - VC-47 All the effects of ignorance, root, and branch, are burnt down by the fire of knowledge, which arises from discrimination between these two—the Self and the non-self.
Until you think you are an individual separate from the world and the world existed prior to you and you are born in it afterward the ignorance will prevail as a reality. Till ignorance is there the universe prevails as reality.
Sage Sankara says: ~ “The exercise in discrimination between real and unreal and renunciation of the false is real meditation, then why you are indulging in other types of meditation.
Perfect understanding and realization of ‘what is what’ leads to Self-awareness. By holding onto theories one remains in the realm of dualistic illusion or Maya.
You have to mentally go on dropping what is not the truth through deeper Self-search. Finally when you become aware of the fact that, your ego, your body, and the world are one in essence then there is Self-awareness in the midst of duality. : ~Santthosh Kumaar
